Nail The Truth

Nail the Truth

To the walls of your heart

Lay them brick on brick, precept on precept

Line upon line on a firm foundation.

Reinforce the doors with truth.

Panel the ceiling with justice.

Paste the promises on the windows.

Deck the floors with faith and hope.

Set as a chandelier, courage

Place in your vase, kindness

Line your curtains with patience

Till the rays of promise dawn through.

Build your house upon the word.

A rock, feeble flesh, and bones can lean on

One, steadfast through the storm

An anchor amid raging winds.

Wordspiration

This poem is adapted from Deuteronomy 6, Psalms 37:31, 40:8, and 119:11.

In Deuteronomy 6, the Lord commanded His people to write His words upon their hearts, to tie them on their hands, inscribe them on their foreheads, doorposts, and gates. Today, our hearts, minds, and souls are those inner doorposts and gates. God still desires that we inscribe His truth deeply within.

As believers, we are not just to read Scripture for the sake of familiarity or memorisation but to meditate on it consistently, until it lives and breathes in us. When God’s Word is truly stored in our hearts, it transforms us from within. It begins to shape our thoughts, emotions, choices, and conversations. The more grounded we are in His Word, the more we live by faith and not by fear.

Keeping God’s Word close requires wholehearted devotion. But when we build our inner lives upon it, like a sturdy house, it becomes our anchor in every storm.

May we be diligent to inscribe His Word on the walls of our hearts, and may our lives reflect the One who dwells within.

Prayer
Father God, help me to nail Your truth to the doorposts of my heart. Let your Word dwell richly in my soul, shaping my thoughts, guiding my steps, and transforming my life. May it build my faith, silence fear, and stir up courage. Help me to delight in your commands and find joy in doing your will. Let my life become a reflection of Jesus, steady and radiant through every season. In Jesus’ name, amen.
