Children often pose incredible and uncomfortable questions about the bible. For instance, how did Jesus feed five thousand people (besides women and children)—excusing that they lived in a different time and culture?
Do you mean 12 men made thousands sit through the meal? How? Did they serve them with plates or leaves? How was the coordination, considering thousands had to sit on a field? Was it rowdy? Were the children overwhelmed? On and on they go. (I am sure Bible scholars have answers to these questions.)
Yes, it was a miracle. However, it piques the curiosity of children. And for some children, it’s an imaginary tale.
Guess what?
Most adults perceive Bible stories as if they are works of fiction. Our minds interpret these stories as if they are stage plays/folktales. It is one of the reasons why many of us find it challenging to believe in God. We may hold back our thoughts to avoid judgment. But in our hearts, we still question the authenticity of Bible stories.
Tell you what? The Bible is the living word of God. It’s alive and very active. There is TRUTH in every letter and word. We have to believe.
That said,
