Why do we worry?

Today, I am sharing a poem inspired by the writings of Jesus in Matthew 6: 31-33.

You can also read an article I wrote titled, why should we care?

Here it goes:

***

Why do we worry?

Why worry?

Should we lie awake through long nights

carrying the rocks and burdens

sighing and crying?

Why do you worry?

Does it add fresh skin or

grow new hair on you?

Why do we worry?

Does it make us taller, richer, or poorer?

Or does it not leave us poorer in mind, health, and body?

Does it not make us richer in pain, hopelessness, and fear

Does not worry, suck out the beauty of grace

of life,

of faith

steals all peace

joy and righteousness in the Holy Ghost

Worry

takes away the desire to look into each day

and leaves indelible worried lines on faces

Do not worry

Father knows, sees and hears

Take all the burdens upwards

Throw them at his feet

He is ever willing, not tired or worn out

to bear all problems on Himself.
